Be sure to let me know what you agree and disagree with in the comments section. I would also love to hear what your favourite and least favourite films of the year were below. Enjoy!

Honourable mentions: The Hateful Eight, Ant-Man, Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Martian

10) Mad Max: Fury Road (The best action movie in years, I loved the practical effects and the bad ass female leads)

9) Kingsman: The Secret Service (A better James Bond film than most James Bond films, Kingsman has my kind of tongue and cheek and crass sense of humour)

8) Room (If Brie Larson doesn’t get nominated the Academy looses all credibility, yet again)

7) The Gift (A terrific psychological thriller with great performances and a memorable ending that will leave you speechless)

6) Mr. Holmes (I loved the mystery and Sir Ian McKellan’s performance was terrific but the story of an aging Sherlock Homes, one of my favourite fictional characters, impressed me a lot)

5) Creed (Everything about this movie worked well beyond expectation, I’m not even a boxing fan but I do love Rocky and ended up caring for the characters quite a lot)

4) Spotlight (The most important film of the year and one I can’t seem to get out of my head, it stresses the importance of good journalism and told a sad true story)

3) Star Wars Ep 7: The Force Awakens (Saw it twice in one day and I wanted more, everything about this film screamed fun)

2) It Follows (I don’t love horror movies because it’s very hard to scare me but this movie did just that and creeped me out too)

1) Sicario (I watched 50 movies in the theatre this year and Sicario floored me from beginning to end, it left my jaw on the floor and I couldn’t stop thinking about it for weeks)
